Replacement Brakes for an AL-KO Axle. Can I Use Heavier Brakes?

Question:

AL-KO 7280, 8k axles. Replacement brakes look like these, but are listed as 9k -12k. Will this also work for the 8k axles? If not, do you have a replacement electric/hydraulic brake set for 8k axle? Thanks

Thanks for the picture! Those brakes do look identical. The Hayes/AL-KO Hydraulic Brake Assembly - Duo Servo - 12-1/4" - Left Hand/Right Hand - 9K to 12K item # K23-524-00 will work on 8,000 lbs AL-KO axles if they are 12-1/4" diameter x 3-1/2" wide. You will want to measure your current brakes to confirm if these will fit. There will be no issue running 9k-12k brakes on your 8K axles.
