Fifth Wheel Solution for Cab and Chassis Truck

Question:

I have a 2002 Ford F-350 SuperDuty Crewcab Can and Chassis truck. I’m having trouble trying to find a fifth wheel hitch kit for the truck. I was wondering what you all would recommend. Any help is greatly appreciated!

The only option we have for your cab/chassis is the Reese Low Profile 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, part # RP30054. This hitch has a 30,000-lb gross towing capacity. Installation of this hitch requires it to be installed directly through a 1/2 inch steel plate under the deck. The plate must be welded to brackets that are bolted to the truck frame and should be done by a qualified professional.

For your cab and chassis Ram, which features narrower frame rails than the standard model, I recommend going with the B&W # BWGNRK1500. This particular hitch is designed specifically for this type of application and has a 30,000 pound capacity. Some welding will be required.
