Updated 06/15/2022 | Published 06/13/2022 >
Question:
We had a wheel bearing failure on the road. We had a shop replace all of the drums, brakes and bearings. The brakes are self adjustinginch but do not seem to be working as good as they used to. 2018 Featherlite with 7k axles. We replaced the full backing plate kit. All wire connections seem good. The rights and left are correct. Thoughts???

It sounds like the initial manual adjustment to your Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-464-465 may have no been preformed correctly.
What you can try and do is, preform a couple of braking attempts to properly adjust your brakes. You'll want to start with the truck and trailer on a fairly smooth and level surface, slowly accelerate to 20 MPH, and step on the brakes.
Preform this around 20 plus times to properly adjust your brakes, however if you feel like quite a bit of adjusting is needed, manually adjustment will be your best bet.
