Question:
We have ordered a 118158 and a 38955 and have watched the installation videos in advance of receivine our converter and isolation diodes. The video talks about using the converter to convert a towed vehicle with seperate turn and stop lights so that it can be towed by a vehicle with combination turn/stop lights. My question is can we still use this converter to convert a tow vehicle that has combination turn/stop lights so that it can be towed by a vehicle that uses seperate turn and brake lights. Do we just wire this in the reverse of the normal instructions.

If the vehicle you are towing with has separate stop and turn signals then it will need to be wired with a Modulite converter so that it can run the lights on the vehicle you are towing that does not have separate turn signals and stop lights. If the vehicle you are towing with is already setup to tow a trailer then the Modulite converter is most likely already installed.
If you are towing with the 1994 Ford Ranger mentioned above then you will need to wire it with a 4-way connector that converts the separate signals, item # 118325 is the correct T-One Harness for the Ranger. Once this is installed you will only need the Tail Light Isolating Diode System with Wiring Harness, item # 38955, to complete the wiring on the vehicle you are towing, and you will not need the Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter, item # 118158.
You will need two additional diodes and 6-Way connectors if both vehicles have separate brake and turn signals.
