Mounting Orientation of RV Propane Gas Detector RS64FR
Updated 05/10/2022 | Published 05/09/2022 >
Question:
Instead of mounting this detector horizontal on the wall will it work just as well mounted vertical? My Atwood 31014 opening is 2 9/16inch wide x 3 3/4 tall so looks like mounting the RS64FR vertical would fit and cover up the current hole better. Maybe? Thank you.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The RV Propane Gas Detector, # RS64FR should be installed in the horizontal orientation. This comes with two mounting bracket options to help cover over holes such as you describe. These options are 7-1/4" long x 3-3/8" wide or the second option of 5-3/4" long x 4-1/4" wide.
