Does My U-Haul Hitch Allow me to Tow a Trailer or Attach an Accessory?

Question:
A number of years ago, I bought a cargo carrier from a store. I had a Uhaul hitch installed at your Morse Rd. Location in Columbus, Ohio. I would like to know if I can haul a trailer with the hitch. Or is it limited to the flat cargo carrier?

We are not associated with, U-Haul, but I can definitely give you an answer! In order to know for sure if you can tow or carry a flat cargo carrier with your hitch, it really depends on the overall construction of the hitch. Even though most hitches are constructed to use for towing and to carry hitch-mounted accessories, it is always a good ideal to consult with the owner's manual of the hitch in order to make sure.
Also, it is important not to exceed the hitch's maximum tongue weight capacity (the vertical weight on the hitch) or the gross towing weight capacity (the horizontal weight on the hitch). This can be extremely dangerous. In addition to that, I recommend making sure that you do not exceed the overall weight rating of your vehicle. The weight rating of your vehicle can be found in your owner's manual.
