Transmission coolers are universal and the bigger you go the better. For your 2016 Volvo XC90 I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class IV - Efficient item # D13504 . This cooler is 11" wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep and uses smaller plates that cover more area than other coolers in order to agitate transmission fluid.
