Question:
why cant you back up with this hitch?

Helpful Expert Reply:
You can reverse with the Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution System part # C17422 but you need to be sure you are not backing up at an angle. The system works using friction to stop the trailer from swaying so trying to reverse at an angle puts too much stress on this system and can cause damage. If you need to reverse at an angle simply unhook the spring bars and sway bar from the trailer. This will be the case for most weight distribution systems.
