There are Class II and III hitches available for your Jeep Compass which you can see by clicking the provided link. Whenever the choice is available we recommend going with a Class III with the 2 inch receiver opening, because it is the most common. The Class III will allow you future flexibility in choosing hitch mounted accessories, since there is a much better selection of accessories available that are compatible with the 2 inch receiver opening.
I would recommend either the Draw-Tite Class III, part # 75712 or the # 36423 if you would prefer a Class II with the 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. The hitch you referenced, Hidden Hitch part # 60323 is a fit for an older Chrysler LHS or New Yorker, and would not fit your Compass.
If you are planning on towing with the hitch, you might also need the following:
The ball mount and trailer ball you choose will depend on whether you use the Class II or III hitch.
Ball Mount, part # 36061 for a Class II hitch or # 2753 for a Class III
Trailer Ball for Class II, part # 19257 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or # 19258 for a 2 inch ball
Trailer Ball for Class III, part # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball
Trailer Wiring Harness, part # 118539
I have linked you to the installation instructions and videos for both the Class II and III hitches as well as the trailer wiring harness. After looking over the instructions and viewing the installation videos, please give us a call if you have further installation questions.
