Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Capable Of Carrying a 65LB Workman Bike

We just purchased a 2022 Honda CR-V, and we need to put a bike rack on for our sons 65 lb bike. I prefer the Thule 2 bike rack, but will it block the back-up sensor? Is there an alternative. His bike is a Workman bike for 500 lb rider.

With your sons bike weighing 65lbs you are going to be limited to a hitch mounted bike rack. These racks including the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 that you prefer will cause issues with reverse sensors on your 2022 Honda CR-V. There really is no way around this as the sensor locations is on the top of your rear bumper.
Since your sons bike is the same weight as the maximum capacity of the EasyFold you might consider the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR that has a maximum capacity of 80lbs per bike. This will give you some faith of knowing its rated for more than the bike and will help account for any additional accessories such as bike pumps or tool kits that he may choose to add to the bike. This rack also is capable of supporting a bike with a wheelbase up to 60" versus only 51-3/16" with the Thule EasyFold.
