Correct Heat Strip For A Furrion Chill Air Conditioner 15,500 Btu

Updated 02/24/2025 | Published 03/26/2022

Question:

We just installed the 15,500 Furrion FACR15SA-PS and it works great. We also purchased and installed the strip heater C-FACR15SA-A02. However, we just noticed that they are presently not compatible. But when you look at the attached schematic layout in the AC unit. It indicates that Electric Heater is optional. Also looks like there may be a lay down area on the electronic board for heater strip connector wire. Has etrailer or the controller manufacturer figured out a clever way to integrating the single zone thermostat, Furrion 15,500 AC unit, controller, and the heater strip. I figured that there may be another version of the controller that is compatible with the wall mounted thermostat. All the parts that have been used are as follows: Controller - FACC12SA-BL Thermostat - FACW12PA-BL AC unit - FACR15SA-PS Air Box with LED - FACT12LA-PS Heater strip - C-FACR15SA-A02 Technology is always changing and I hoping that we have a controller solutions for the question listed above. I spoke with Furrion, and they said that the problem lies in which parts were used. You bought the heater strip # C-FACR15SA-A02 our part # FR35SR, which are the heat strips for the manual air distribution box.

Instead, you're going to want to use C-FACR15SA-A04, which is the correct part for the electronic style air distribution box # FACT12LA-PS that you have.

Bryce, I need some confirmation. I would like to add heat strip to my FACR15HESA-BL with FACT12CA-PS distribution box. Is this possible. I cannot find a definitive answer. Thanks

@Greg Yes Greg it is possible, and you'd just need the Heat Strip Add-On for Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner # FR63PR.

So I’m completely new to RV’s and AC’s. My rv came with two units and two separate thermostats. The thermostat in the main living area controls that ac as well as the furnace. The second AC and thermostat are in the bunk room. And it stays chilly in the bunk room even with the furnace on, so I’m wanting to add a heat strip to the unit In the bunkhouse. I was looking through my paperwork and found two futon cards and both say the model is FACR15HESA-PS. Can I add a heat strip to it? And if so which one do I need?
