Replacement Air Conditioner Recommendation for a Coleman Mach on a 2001 Fleetwood Tioga 24

Published 09/27/2024

Question:

I have a 2001 Fleetwood Tioga 24. The rooftop ac needs to be replaced as its days are numbered. It is a Coleman Mach. It is ducted and thermostat is on the wall, which functions well. What will I need to replace this unit? Thank you!

Hey Kathryn, good to hear from you again!

For your application I recommend picking up a Furrion Chill HE air conditioner because they come with wiring adapters to fit with your current Coleman wiring and have proven to be the most reliable. I'm not sure what the Btu rating or color is for your current AC, so here is a list of the Furrion ones that will work:

White
- 13.5K Btu # FR82PV
- 15K Btu # FR42PV

Black
- 13.5K Btu # FR62PV
- 15K Btu # FR32PV

Thanks, again, Jon.....this is extremely helpful information, as I am planning to do this install myself. Is there a less expensive alternative? I need a 15 in white. Appreciate your expertise and prompt reply!! Thank you, thank you!

@Kathryn We do have the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup # ASA76YR that is more cost-effective, but we've recently learned that their wiring adapters don't always work right so it can be a bit of a crap-shoot as to whether you can just plug it in or if you'll need to have a technician come out and hardwire everything together for you - that's why I recommended the Furrion from the start.

I totally understand. Makes more sense to go with the sure thing. Gotta give it some thought. Thanks so much, Jon...you are the best. Take care, Kathryn

@Kathryn Thanks for the kind words! Once you've got your new air conditioner installed, I'd love to see some photos of it and get your thoughts on the overall installation process if you're willing to share!
