Question:
I am considering purchasing the fastway flash solid steel 10 inch. I am getting a new boat with a UFP A-160 couplerhead seems bulky. Does this hitch have enough clearance for this type coupler over and around the ball?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Flash Solid Steel Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # FA49-00-5900 will have enough clearance for the UFP A-160 surge coupler on your new boat trailer. While the head of this surge coupler does look longer than others, the ball sleeve is in the very front of the head.
I recommend using the Hitch Lock and Adjustment Pin Lock Set # FA86-00-4200 to secure the hitch and adjustable ball to your tow vehicle. This will help prevent someone from stealing this ball mount and allow you to keep it in the receiver rather than putting it on and taking off every time you use your boat trailer.
