The ecohitch for the wrx is pretty well hidden with limited access to the pin. This racks pin has a larger knob on the end. Does it fit?

For your application with the EcoHitch # 306-X7257 I recommend using the Hollywood Racks Road Runner 5 Bike Carrier # HR520.
This isn't a platform rack and as such only weighs 37-1/2 lbs; the pin system on this is a standard locking pin which will be simple to install. Just make sure you install the pin prior to cranking down on the anti-rattle handle at the front.
