When it comes to the Thule Apex 4 # TH9025XT you will have to take all the bikes off the rack to you use the tilt feature. The only way to keep your bikes loaded and to have full access to your trunk is with the Thule Apex Swing XT # TH9027XT. The bike racks are completely the same, but # TH9027XT has a arm that swings the upright and the arms out to the side of your vehicle.
