What is The Limiting Factor on 7" Trailer Brakes That Requires a 10" to 13" Wheel?

Question:

Would it be possible to run a larger diameter rim on this brake? Whats the limiting factor?

The Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-2 along with the Hub # AKHD-545-2-2K and Axle # ASR2000S01 will all give the 10"-13" wheel size as those are the wheel and tire sizes that have the similar weight ratings for the components. By using larger wheels and tires that have higher weight capacities the tires are to stiff and rather than absorbing road shock it transfers that to shock to the hub and spindle. The additional shock can damage these components as well as other parts of your trailer leading to breakdowns while you are on the road. This is why I never recommend running larger diameter wheels and tires than what are recommended.

Smaller than 10" wheels would cause fitment issues on the hub itself as the inside of the wheel will contact the outside of the drum.
