5TH Wheel Hitch/Adapter For CM Truck Beds Flatbed On a 2016 Ram 3500

Question:

I have a 2016 3500 Ram with a CM flat bed. It does not have the turnover ball just a standard gooseneck 2 5/8 ball. The bed also has the trough 4.5 by 18 inches that the ball sits in. Im looking for a hitch that will allow me to use the truck for king pin, and gooseneck hauling. Fifth wheel is rated at 21k and I would want something that would allow me to make a full 90 degree turn without punching out my back window on my truck. The headache rack is 54 inches to the center of the gooseneck ball. Please help Thanks

For your 2016 Ram 3500 with the CM Flat Bed I recommend using the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3100. This will attach to the 5th wheel pin box and convert it to be used with your gooseneck ball. You will not need an offset to make jackknife turns, as you have 54" between your headache rack and the gooseneck ball. You will need the Safety Chains # AM3109 since you will be using a ball connection, and the Slide Hammer # AM3103 will aid in the installation for the adapter.

It looks like CM Truck Beds has switched to using the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Flatbed Trucks # BWGNRK1500 for their newer flat beds. This would then allow you to use the B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3050 if you would prefer to have a 5th wheel hitch in your flatbed. You would need to have your fixed gooseneck ball cut out with the B&W Turnoverball welded in its place.
