Troubleshooting 1/2"-20 Lug Nuts Fitting Loose

Question:
just purchased 1/2 20 stainless lug nuts for my small boat trailer. they thread all the way on and seem to be loose. i can wiggle them. just dont seem right

I wonder if you're needing a smaller lug nut like the 7/16"-20 CE Smith Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # CE11050. If your 1/2"-20 lug nuts have some play then the smaller option might be better. That or your studs are damaged and you need to replace them.
It would also be helpful to measure the diameter of your studs to make sure you have the correct application.
