Expert Reply:
On your motorcycle the taillight circuit is a separate lighting signal, this means that the brake light is on a different circuit than the turn signal. If you were wanting taillights for your trailer with only one light and in an LED configuration you would need to install a taillight converter and then you can install the taillights of your choice.
The Hopkins Tail Light Converter # HM48895 is compatible with LED taillights. This converter will hard-wire into the motorcycle wiring and will convert the taillight signal to a combined system for use on your trailer. Then you can mount a single taillight of your choice that would function off of this combined system. I have provided a link to the LED taillights that we have available, please choose a taillight that meets the mounting style that is required for your trailer lights. We also offer several kits that are intended to be used on boat trailers but these might be useful for you trailer lighting needs.
I have included a link to the parts above, a helpful article, and links to LED taillights that we offer.
