What Type of Brake Fluid Should Be Used with the 12" Titan Hydraulic Brake Kit
Updated 02/25/2022 | Published 02/24/2022 >
Question:
A lot of farm equipment manufacturers use the brakes on the farm implements they make. Can I use the hydraulic system from a tractor to activate the brake instead of DOT 3 brake fluid? Will tractor hydraulic fluid light weight oil affect the seals in the brake cylinders adversely? What material are the seals made of? Thank you

Expert Reply:
The brake fluid specifications for the surge brake system usually comes from the actuator but we can only recommend using DOT (Usually 3/4) fluid with the Titan Hydraulic Brake Kit part # T4489600-500 as outlined my the manufacturer.
