What strap like bike rack fits 2004 Highlander with the spoiler? Concerned weight of bikes rip down spoiler. Will rack support kids 20” bike?

For your question, I am assuming you are asking for a rack for your 2004 Toyota Highlander with a rear spoiler. For that vehicle, I recommend the Yakima HangOut 2 Bike Rack # Y02637 or the HangOut 3 # Y02638. These racks were produced with spoiler clearance in mind. It comes with a QuickTrigger hub system that lets you adjust the base to fit the shape of your trunk. The racks also come with anti-sway cradles to prevent bike contact during transport. To add theft-deterrence of the bikes I recommend the Yakima Same-Key Cable # Y07233 along with the lock core # Y07202. To help prevent theft of the rack itself, I recommend the Yakima Passive Security Strap # Y02623.

I went ahead and attached a video of the HangOut mounted on a 2016 Toyota Highlander with a rear spoiler to provide you perspective of the fitment.

This rack will fit your 20" kid's bike, but you do need the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar # 64005 to attach the small-framed bike to the arms of the HangOut. I also attached a video to show how the adapter bar works.
