Question:

I have a 2021 Ford F-150 with no trailer break controller and a 4 pin connector, the truck is a LX with stx package back up sensors. I brought to the dealer to get a 7 pin and break controller. I thought it would be a easy thing for them to do Bc the sell these trucks all the time. They were unable to figure out how to install a 7 pin. The best they could offer was replace my whole back bumper and put in a new wiring harness. This can not be correct. Any help with what to do would be greatly appreciate.

Since your 2021 Ford F-150 has a 4-way connector all you will need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your F-150 with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.
