Replacement Motor Options for Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set
Published 02/10/2022 >
Question:
I have a Cougar Fifth Wheel - 295EFS. I replaced the motor for the landing gear after it seemed to struggle lifting the unit. It is a single motor driving both jacks. After replacement was somewhat better but now having issues again. The motor clicks and stops lifting unless I manually help. Is there a replacement that is better suited?? I have considered 2 motors?? Thanks for the help

For the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set we have the Replacement Motor, # LG-142178 that is designed for use with Stromberg Carlson model LG-1 or LG-2. This has a weight capacity of 5,500 lbs. and a motor speed of 5,500 rpm's. The Replacement Motor, # LG-196308 is for use with Stromberg Carlson model LG-3 or LG-4 models and has a weight capacity of 6,500 lbs. and a motor speed of 5,430 rpm's.
Please compare these to the replacement motor you used for options of a larger capacity. I am unaware of a viable modification to use two motors for operation. This can possibly be done but will be a complete custom fabrication.
