Question:
I have a travel trailer with 2x 100ah batteries charged by 2x 100 watt solar panels. Can I use the onboard 12v batteries to power a breakaway kit, and if so, which kit is best for my small travel trailer weighing in at roughly 2300lbs fully loaded?

I recommend the Fastway Zip Trailer Breakaway Switch with Coiled Cable # FA80-00-2060 for your travel trailer. The coiled cable is less likely to become damaged or caught up in any road debris while driving. Your onboard batteries can be used to power your breakaway since they will be wired into the vehicle charge line and have more than enough power to activate the trailer brakes. I have linked an installation video below to show you how it needs to be installed.
Keeping an extra Cable # FA80-01-2206 is always a good idea since this style cable is unique with the coiled cable and carabiner clip.
