Hitch-mount bike carriers are a good choice since they place no stress on the sheet metal parts of your vehicle, because the hitch that supports them mounts to the vehicle frame.
The link provided will show you all of the 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch receivers for the Impreza. For the non-WRX sedan use Curt # C11317.
Another link will show you all hitch-mount bike carriers compatible with a Class I hitch (but note that you will be limited to 2 bikes due to the weight imposed). You have a choice of both hanging-style and platform-style carriers. You can use the filters on the page to narrow the results to those carriers with the characteristics you most prefer. I have also linked an article concerning hitch-mount carriers that might be helpful to you. A great option is the Curt # C18085. The rack is lightweight and offers an 90-lbs weight rating for your bikes, gives a full foot of clearance from the hitch pin hole and it is rated for use on RVs and cars. With it you can use hitch lock # e98879 and bike cable lock # e98891. You will also need the stabilizer strap # 18050.
All hitches for your vehicle have a 200-lb tongue weight rating. This means that the weight of your choice of bike carrier plus the weight of your loaded bikes cannot exceed this 200-lb weight limit. The same holds true for a cargo carrier if you will ever use one; the weight of the carrier itself plus that of the loaded cargo cannot exceed the specified hitch tongue weight limit.
