How To Prep Trailer for Welding Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs 13703
Updated 02/01/2022 | Published 01/31/2022 >
Question:
I have a 5th wheel with numerous sophisticated electrical systems including 12v, 120v, 240v 50amp split phase, 240v 50 amp single phase, a full solar installation with lithium batteries, charge controllers, inverter, panels, transformers etcetera.. How do I prep the trailer electrical systems in advance of any welding being done to the frame? Thank you in advance.

In regards to the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs part # 13703, you can forgo the bolt-on installation method using the pre-drilled holes in light of welding. That said, the welded surface will need to be clean bare metal without any paint and you will want to disconnect the battery and make sure all other electrical components are shut down.
If you need further assistance then I must recommend you reach out to a qualified welder in your area as we are not.
