Recommended Trailer Brake Controller For Off-Roading In A 2017 Jeep Wrangler JKU Rubicon

I have a 2017 Jeep JKU Rubicon, I will be towing a 6x12 enclosed trailer. I have experience with using both proportional and time delay brake controllers. I would like to use a proportional brake controller, but I do go off roading. Will off roading damage the pendulum in the proportional unit? If I use a proportional unit, could I remove the unit and leave it in the trailer when off roading? Or would it just be better to use a time delay unit? Thanks in advance

Off-roading isn't going to damage the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 but we do offer a brake controller that was designed for off-roading with a trailer. The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR is a proportional brake controller that was designed specifically for hauling a trailer through rugged off-road or desert terrain similar to the Australian Outback.
The control knob of this proportional controller will mount on your dash and allow you to set up the main unit in an out-of-the-way spot, giving you a clean factory look. The unit works no matter its positioning and has a user-controlled mode that is great for all types of terrain in all types of weather. The wiring harness hardwires into your vehicle's wiring and then plugs directly into the main unit.
For a clean factory look when installing the control knob you'll want to also pick up either the # 331-TPSI-002 or # 331-TPSI-003 depending on your mounting location preference. I've attached some videos below that will walk you through installation and offer some additional information as well.
