Does Phone Need to be on For Curt Echo Brake Controller to Work
Published 01/14/2022 >
Question:
After the controller is paired with your phone app, does the phone need to be on for the controller to operate? I realize for the manual override on the app to function the phone must be on, but does the controller operate if the phone has a dead battery or is shut off? Thanks

Good question, and even with the phone off - or if it dies due to a dead battery - the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 will still work.
Like you said, you won't have the ability to use the manual override, but you will still have trailer brakes and the Echo # C51180 will continue to work at the most recently programmed settings.
