Replacement 7-3/4 Inch Equalizer and Heavy-Duty Suspension For Tandem Axle Trailer

Question:
I have a 1995 Ranger boat and the trailer has started giving me a puslating feeling around 70 mph. I noticed the tires have begun to wear strange as well. It’s a tandem axle trailer and I noticed the springs have touched the frame. I removed the equalizer to make sure it wasn’t worn out. It looks like it needs new bushing but that’s about it. My question is: should I replace these bushing or the entire equalizer with something newer and better? Looks like 7-7/8 outside bolt hole to outside bolt hole, 2-7/8 center hole to center line of outside bolt holes, 4-1/4 overall height, and bolt holes are 11/16 without the sleeves in.

Thank you for all that info, and replacing the equalizers, as well as upgrading the suspension hardware is going to be the best option for you. The correct size equalizer, as well as the suspension kit that I recommend is the following:
- Curved Equalizer for 1-3/4" Double Eye Spring - 7-3/4" Long - 9/16" Hole # A2252CB-GALV
- MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR76ZR
The MORryde kit will give you a much-upgraded suspension kit. The reason for that is its 1/2 inch shackle straps, which are stronger and more durable than standard shackle straps, as well as the bronze bushings which are far more durable than nylon, and wet bolts that allow you to easily grease them.
The equalizers do come with the nylon bushings already installed, so you'll need to remove those to install the new bushings, but they can be driven out by tapping them. I have added a link below to a video install of the # MR76ZR for you which does include removing the bushings from a new equalizer so you can see how that's done.
