Question:

We were trying to hook up and I forgot to lift back the black safety latch. In the process, t was bent and now does not fit down over the groove in the handle bar and I cannot line the two holes up to connect the safety pin. What should I do?

I have a complete replacement 5th wheel hitch option for you, but as your 16k Reese Hitch has been discontinued for some time, the replacement handle latch which you're looking for which was part number 30416 is no longer available. If you check around there's a small chance that you'll find a new old stock part, but if not a complete replacement hitch is your only option.

For a complete replacement I recommend going with the Curt A20 # C16140 which will be quite the upgrade compared to your old hitch, but a little more expensive, or for just a cost effective hitch the # C16115 would be a good option if you can get away with the 16k capacity, and would be a pretty similar replacement for your old hitch.
