Question:

Hi. I just got a 2022 Toyota Highlander and need a hitch for it. I am looking at the Curt C99FR, but I want to make sure I can use my weight distribution hitch with it before getting it? Is this able to handle this? The trailer isn't overly heavy, but it does have some sway issues and the weight distribution hitch I have gets that taken care of very nicely. Thanks.

Though I will have another Curt hitch available, the Curt # C99FR cannot be used with weight distribution, unfortunately. This is due to how the receiver tube is attached to the cross tube. Weight distribution will just cause too much stress on it.

With that said, the Curt # C45CR will be the better option for your 2022 Toyota Highlander. This is designed to be a bit more robust and will handle weight distribution very nicely. This will install the exact same way as well and I included an install video for you to check out. This is definitely the way to go.
