For your Sea Ray 240 I find that the weight is going to be around 4,500lbs. For this the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch # DL25215 would be my recommendation. This winch has a 3,000lb load capacity for reeling in your boat.

If you are using bunk boards the rule of thumb is 2:1, the 3,000lb winch will pull a 6,000lb boat across a level surface. Since no boat ramps are level the additional capacity will account for the extra resistance from the hill and any gear that you will likely still have in your boat.

For roller bunks the rule of thumb is 3:1, which is why you see this winch with a maximum capacity of 9,000lbs.
