Do I need to remove my bumper for installing a hitch on my 2022 Subaru Outback wagon?

Expert Reply:
For installing a hitch on your 2022 Subaru Outback, most of the hitches we carry do require for you to remove your rear bumper during installation. If you are looking to avoid that step, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # DT73RR. With the Draw-Tite hitch, you will not need to remove the bumper at all for the installation. Apart from providing you with 675 pounds of maximum tongue weight and 4,500 pounds of towing weight capacity, it comes with a complete hardware kit for a bolt-on installation.
If you need assistance with the installation, I linked a video that shows a 2021 model Outback install process. Your installation will look nearly identical on your 2022 model.
