Replacing Phillips Converter With The Go Power RV Converter And Smart Charger
Updated 11/17/2021 | Published 11/16/2021 >
Question:
I ordered this converter34266167 to replace the old Power Converter in my RV. The old converter is a model Phillips 301 A2. The old converter has two 12v power outputsone for the 12v loads and one to charge the coach battery. This new converter has only a single 12V output. The old unit still provides 12v for my loads, but it is no longer delivering a charge to the coach battery. Im not quite sure how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated. Also, why are there two 30A fuses on the new unit? When I remove either one, I still get 12V out of the new converter. Is one just a spare or what?

I spoke to Go Power! and they informed me that in regards to the Go Power RV Converter and Smart Battery Charger # 34266167, and they informed me that, none of their converters have two 12v outputs like previously mentioned, and that it should be a direct replacement for your current converter. They also explained that the pulling the fuses on the unit won't stop any output because it is still connected to the battery.
Normally, there is a separate connection to the DC distribution panel via a DC disconnect switch to the battery so DC power always gets to the distribution panel.
