Recently purchased a Yakima Skybox 21 for our 2021 4Runner ORP with factory cross bars but have been reading that will not be adequate enough - what else do I need to ensure proper fitment and install? We are driving from Florida to Michigan for the holidays.

The factory crossbars of your 2021 Toyota 4Runner sit too low to allow the Yakima Skybox 21 # Y07337 to fit so what you'd need to do is install a roof rack that will attach to the side rails of your 4Runner like with the Malone part # MPG216 which is a confirmed fit and you'd be set as this would give you a higher set of bars to attach to.
