Question:

Hello, I have a Zieman trailer with 73-1/2inch leaf spring and I would like to it 4inch and add the electric break to properly tow up to 3500 lbs trailer load weight. Will this kit # 8327812-EB work? It say the center is 74. Thank you!

I spoke with Dexter about the spring seats being ever so slightly off, and they said it is possible to use the Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 8327812-EB since it is so close, but it may also put more stress on the suspension. This can cause premature wear and isn't recommended.

It will be better to either have a local trailer supply store order an axle to your specifications, or order the # 8327812-EB with qty.2 of the 2-3/8" Axle Spring Seat # TRSS238. You will need to remove the existing seats and either weld on the new # TRSS238 or have someone weld them on for you.
