Why do Trailer Jacks with Wheels Have Lower Weight Capacities
Updated 06/09/2021 | Published 06/07/2021 >
Question:
Do you guys carry a Tongue swivel jack rated at 2,000lbs that has a removable wheel ? Weld-on or bolt on doesnt matter, for use in an offroad camping trailer. Reason is Id like to take wheel off and put a sturdy base for camping. You have any other alternatives or ideas? Thanks In advance

The wheel casters just don't have the capacity compared to the standard jack feet which is why they are limited to around 1,200 lbs capacity and the fixed feet jacks are higher like what you are needing.
The good news is that the capacity for a jack is based on the tongue weight of the jack and not the total weight so as long as your trailers tongue weight is less than 1,200 lbs a jack like the part # FTJ120W0301 would work great.
