You can very easily add a 7-way to your 2013 Honda Pilot to add a brake controller, and all you need is one part for that:
- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118265
This comes with the relays and fuses needed to activate the tow package so it'll give you exactly what you need. Then to mount it to the back of your Pilot you will need a mounting bracket, the Mounting Bracket # PK12711U.
Then for a brake controller, the best option because of how easy it is to use, is the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180.
The Echo # C51180 just plugs right into that 7-way, and is controlled with an app on your smartphone, a device that you're already comfortable using so there is not going to be any unfamiliar hardware or poorly-written manual to keep poring over simply to use your controller.
