Question:

looking for a brake controller for my 2022 e450 chassis motorhome. I have a hitch and 7 pin connector but no controller. I found one for an F450 but not sure it is the same. I bought and installed one on my GMC from you guys so if the installation is that simple no problem. The trailer is a 2020 two axle towing about 5000# Your recommendation is appreciated

For your 2022 Ford E-450 Cutaway Chassis I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 with a Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 22292. This installation will be a little more involved than the installation on your GMC as the plug in for the adapter is located near the top of the dash and not underneath the dash where it is more accessible. I have linked an installation video that was done on a 2020 chassis so you can see where the connector is located. Do understand that the video also goes into installing a 7-way which you already have and will not need to have installed. I prefer the P3 as is has a customizable LCD screen and diagnostics to help when you have issues with the trailer brakes not working.

If you prefer a brake controller that takes up less space as the front cab of your motorhome is already small the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR is a great option. The Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter # 331-TPH-017 will allow you to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3034-P so that you do not have to cut off the factory connector to wire in the connector.
