Determining The Amount of Which Solar Panels are Needed to Run My Forest River Pop-up Camper
Question:
We are purchasing a Forest River pop-up. As we intend to do extended trips, we plan to put two batteries on the camper. I doubt we will use the refrigerator due to high power draw and small size. How many watts would you recommend a solar panel be rated for? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
The amount of solar power needed is more dependent on your consumption rate than the camper itself. I have attached an article that outlines the steps you need to take to determine if you need a solar panel like the Go Power Portable Solar Panel with Digital Solar Controller - 90 Watt Solar Panel # 34282729 of if you need a larger panel like the Go Power Portable Solar Panel with Digital Solar Controller - 200 Watt Solar Panel # 34282610.
Once you determine your consumption rate let me know and we will get you the correct solar panels and any accessories you need.
