Are Trailer Brakes Interchangeable Between 7k and 8k Axles

Hello, I have a 8 ton dual axle equipment trailer, the price difference between 7k lb electric trailer brake assemblies and 8k lb electric trailer brake assemblies is quite large. Would I be able to run the 7k lb electric brakes?

There is a size difference between the brake assemblies that fit 7k axles and 8k axles so you would not be able to use 7k assemblies on an 8k axle.
You'll have to measure your current assemblies do determine which kit you'd need:
# K23-532-533-00 for 12 inch by 3-3/8 inch
# DX32QR for 12 1/4 inch by 2-1/2 inch
# 23-434-435 for 12-1/4 inch by 3-3/8 inch
