Will these fit 1996 8000k Dexter axle ? My less than setup has 4 bolt stamped steel back plate.

Yes, the etrailer Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-8 will fit your 8,000LB Dexter Axle that was produced in 1996. I was able to confirm this with Dexter that the 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" was the only size electric brakes that were installed from the factory on axle.
We also have the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-434-435 if you wish to stay with original equipment.
