Question:

Is drilling holes in the frame required?

Expert Reply:

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13285 does not require any drilling into the frame of your 2018 Cadillac XT5. If you have a Platinum trim this receiver will not fit on your XT5. You will also not need to modify any of your panels for the receiver to fit. The receiver will attach to your frame with carriage bolts and square hole spacers inside the frame that will pass through factory holes. I have linked an installation video below of an installation that was done in our shop for you to use as a reference.

I do recommend installing either the 4-Way Wiring Harness # 118720 or 7-Way Wiring Harness # 118276 when you install the receiver. The connectors behind the bumper cover are easier to access before the receiver is secured into place.

The Mounting bracket # 18144 and # 18140 can be used to secure the 4-way connector to your receiver without drilling.

For a 7-way connector you will need Mounting Bracket # C57202 and # 18138 to attach it to the receiver without drilling hole.
