Are Light Truck Tires Okay to Use on Travel Trailer

Question:

My travel trailer came with 235/17/15 factory. Is it okay to put the same tire back on? I know it’s a truck tire and I’m just trying to keep the family safe in our travels.

Typically, you'll want to use trailer tires only on a travel trailer but the exception would be some of the larger sizes, like 15 or 16 inch. It's fairly common to use Light Truck tires for the larger sizes because they're more readily available than trailer tires in that size are.

I'd recommend you find the ID tag on your travel trailer, which will list the recommended tire size. If they recommend 235/75-15LT, then your current size truck tire is just fine.
