I just went out to measure the mounting brackets and they do measure 3-inches. What are my options?

I have a great alternative for you. I reached out to my tech at Dexter Axle with your provided serial number (thank you!). He confirmed that the Torflex Lift Kit - Single Axle - 2-5/8" Lift # K71-723-01 is not compatible with the specs on your axle. However, he did confirm that the kit you need is the Torflex Lift Kit - Single Axle - 2-5/8" Lift # K71-707-01. The reason why you need this second kit is because it is designed to fit with your 3,500 pound axles whereas the # K71-723-01 is only designed to fit 2,000 pound axles. However, it is important to note that you need to measure the height of your mounting brackets on the axles to make sure that the brackets are not 3-inch high profile brackets.

I have an answer for you. I went ahead and reached out to my tech at Dexter, and he said that if you have the 3-inch high profile brackets on your axles, the only option is a customized fabrication. You will need to add a sub-frame on the axle through welding in order to move the bracket farther away from the frame. Sadly, Dexter does not have a space solution for your Dexter axles that does not involve some kind of fabrication.
