The part # 41938 only fits the cab and chassis model trucks which have the narrower 34 inch wide frame width. For a higher capacity hitch that does fit your 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 from Draw Tite you'd want the # 41944 which has a trailer towing capacity of 13,000 lbs which would be most likely more than the capacity of your truck.
