WHAT IF ANYTHING HAS TO BE DONE TO MY GMC IF I WANTED TO PUT YOU HITCH THAT WILL BE THE BEST FIT AND SAFEST TO PULL A 2012 COACHMEN CHAPARREL M-26 RLS 29.17 FEET LONG 8 FEET WIDE 6536 LBS. DRY WEIGHT THE BOOK ON THE GMC SAYS TOWING WEIGHT IS 9100 LBS.

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, # DM8550040 has a fore/aft travel of 22-1/2" and is about the only option for your 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5-1/2 foot bed.
You will need a fifth wheel rail kit too for installation, the Demco Custom Install kit, # DM8552027-71 is made specifically for this truck.
You may also want the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness, # C56070. Mount this 7-way, RV-style connector in your truck bed for quick, simple hookup of your 5th-wheel. This custom harness plugs in-line with your existing factory wiring so that you can retain use of your GMC Sierra 1500's factory 7-pole.
