How exactly does this work? Where do you place this nozzle so the water enters the tank?

Drain the water from your tank then insert the nozzle of Valterra Water Heater Flush Kit # A10-4010VP into the drain hole. Hook a hose up to the threaded fitting and then flush the water heater tank, getting rid of any debris or sediment.
