How Many Soft Starters Are Required For Two AC Units On RV?

I have 2 RV A/C units. Do I need 2 Soft Start units for a 30 Amp hook up or just 1 unit?

Expert Reply:
One SoftStartRV Soft Start for each RV AC Units # SSR54FR is required regardless of the power supply. The SoftStartRV provides a reduction in STARTING AMPS not RUNNING AMPS.
Typically starting amps can be as high as 50 to 70 amps. The SoftStartRV will cut the starting amps down to approx 25. You need one SoftStartRV for each A/C compressor. I attached a demonstration video which goes into more detail on this soft starter.
