Question:

Last season my lift mechanism on my model 7000K blew up into many parts while operating. I had to wait some time for a replacement part 10A20281K-1AF could be sent to me. When it finally came in I got it installed and before connecting the lifting arms, I decided to run it through a cycle to be sure it was operating correctly. The lifting motor did cycle through but seems to run too long resulting in a motion of about 110-120 degrees of rotation. Luckily, I did not have the lift arms connected because the lift gear would have blown up again Im pretty sure. So my question is: Do I have a defective circuit board allowing the lift motor cycle to run too long or what? I have removed the fan from my RV so I can work on it in my shop. So I am very puzzled by this issue. Any ideas you can give me would be appreciated.

I reached out to my contact at MaxxAir and the reason your lift motor opened up so much is do to you not having the lift arms connected.

The way the circuit board on your # MA00-07000K works is by allowing the lift motor to work until it senses an amp draw due to resistance. Since you did not have the arms connected, the motor did not experience resistance and thus the circuit board did not stop the lift motor. This gave a false appearance of a bad circuit board.

Once everything is back together and fully installed then this issue will go away.
